How come some people talk bad and don't like the video-game character Luigi, Mario's younger brother?

Luigi is second, Mario is first; Luigi isn't starred as the main character in a lot of games, mario is. People latch onto Mario because "he was number one!" and Luigi is just there as the second person. However, I think Luigi is underrated for his jumping ability.
