LAH is the ancient semitic word root meaning "god" or "deity", and is not the name of any specific god. Arabic-speaking monotheists use the word "al-lah" (meaning "THE God") when they speak of the God of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Mohammad. Arabic-speaking jews use the word "allah" when speaking about YHWH, and Arabic-speaking christians use the word "allah" when speaking about Jesus.
